by Patrick Schmidt (null) And they saw light at the end of the tunnel. Unbelievable but true, the Swedes have explored the light-heartedness for "Last fair deal gone down". Have the predecessors "Tonight's decision" and "Discouraged ones" been die stamped by deep melancholy and desperate hopelessness, Jonas Renkse and Co. juggle with hope on their new record. Easy and lightly, the composition flow out of the speakers, sometimes poppy but always with a certain demanding aspect to them. Renske has matured to a Christian singer, his melodies are still great and unique, additionally the yfinally engaged a lively drummer who breathes more life and dynamics into the songs. Best example is the beautiful first single "Teargas" with a refrain that you won't get out of you head again. Katatonia have long overtaken Paradise Lost, but with this album they could become stars.
