by Andreas Reissnauer (20.04.2009) Two years after their second album "Amoeba", Hacride have improved remarkably. They started as a technical Death Metal combo, but are much more versatile and experimental now. The opening song "To walk among them" has a total length of over 15 minutes (!), is unwieldy, progressive, and very emotional. The following songs are all shorter, but you wouldn't conclude from them that two years ago, the band toured with a genuine Death Metal outfit like Dying Fetus. Hacride is the heir apparent among this lot of new, innovative, French Metal bands - they have arrived now at that level Gojira had reached with "From mars to sirius". In case you love Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, or said Gojira, you'll dig this album. No easy listening stuff - but intelligent and tough sounds are coming back (proof: Opeth)!
