by Sonja Angerer (28.09.2007) The daughter of the Zeus wife, Demeter, kidnapped by Hades, the god of the underworld, gave the name for the project of the L'Ame Immortelle-singer, Sonja Kraushofer with Martin Hoefert of Janus. Like Persephone, "Letters to a stranger" is torn between rebellion and foreordination to her superior destiny. In "Strange", a slightly weird self-analysis in the warming light of an autumn day, the singstress seems surprised about her own weakness, while "Merciless" breathes the invincible power that freed Persephone, so the saga goes, for eight months out of the prison of the kingdom of the dead. In "Buried", the putative victim even seems to change for the threat herself – potentially fatal under the soft mask. "Letters to a stranger", beautifully provided with an expensive box, is incredibly variable and fascinating – a must-have for all fans of intelligent, dark music.
