by Lothar Landt (07.10.2007) "Live in America" is a hell of an album featuring not only Jorn's own songs and two solo parts (drums/guitar) but also some cover-versions as well as interesting studio material. It starts with the pumping "We brought the angels down" from the "The duke"-album. "Blacksong" invites you to bang your head, just like "Duke of love" greatly rocks. Beside his own songs, also the covers are well chosen. The versions of "Are you ready" and "Cold sweat" from Thin Lizzy are as good as Deep Purple's "Perfect strangers", Dio's "Straight through the heart", and the 17-minute Whitesnake-medley that shows the roots of this exceptional singer. Further surprises are the gloomy "Godless and wicked" (Beyond Twilight) and "Soulburn" (Masterplan). All this makes "Live in America" almost some kind of "Best of"-CD, rounded off by the previously unreleased studio track, "Sacrificial feelings" as well as a new version of "Out to every nation" and the already known Black Sabbath-medley "Lonely is the word / Letters from earth".
