Formed by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselić in Aberdeen and Washington in 1987, Nirvana quickly climbed the ranks among Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Alice in Chains in the early nineties and became the leaders of the grunge scene with their mixture of punk and heavy rock and metal. The trio made their international breakthrough together with drummer Dave Grohl in 1991. Produced by Butch Vig, their second album ‘Nevermind’ and their single ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ made it to the top of the charts (almost) worldwide. This set of 4 CDs presents radio recordings from the band’s different phases from 1987 (Kaos Community Radio in Olympia, Washington) to the end of 1993 (The Live and Loud Broadcast in Seattle).
