With their fourth album "Lucifer incestus" the Austrian Black Metal formation No. 1 harpoons us with a blasphemous shell, which makes you wonder if you have Γ¬ just met Lucifer himself. Great Black Metal riffing pairs up with Death Metallic guitars so dark and reigning that shivers of fear run down the spine. Torturer (who left the band shortly after these recordings) delivers a killer-drumming which can only be explained by a drum computer or biomechanical engineering. The over-the-top-evil-image is a bit exagerated- on the one hand it stands for continuity, but still it becomes too much at some point. Nevertheless, this band makes impressive music - black, blacker, the blackest! (Oliver Kirchner - 04/01)
