by Olaf Plotke (07/99) It's been 6 years that Metal Church released an album and now it's finally time for their "Masterpeace" which after 10 years features original singer David Wayne. And he does an excellent job. No, really I hereby nominate "Masterpeace" for the album-of-the-year-award. But fans of the Mike Howe era should as well check out this killer since Kurdt Vanderhoof once again has everything perfectly under control. Oohhh, man! "All your sorrows" is aggressive to the bone with a lot of breaks. "Pound of cure" has a great melody to it and the vocals remind of Paul DiAnno when listening to it for the first time. In 1999 the sound of Metal Church is still easy to make out since the guys still have a lot of old trademarks in their sound - aggressive elements and melodic parts! Traditional metal is back on the rise! (Michael Hilscher)
