Excellent Service

On their new album the band around Piet Sielck works a bit darker and more straight, lets it groove and crack and convinces.

by Markus Wosgien (11.04.2007) Since their self-titled, 1997-debut there have been a lot of changes in Iron Savior. Having started out as a project by Piet Sielck and Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray) plus Thomen Stauch (Savage Circus), Iron Savior soon became a working band with a progressing record output and a growing fan base. "Megatropolis" directly sets forth where the predecessor, "Battering ram" left off and presents nine modern, powerful Heavy Metal-killers. The songs are very down to earth, full of power and breathe all elements that Iron Savior stands for: melody, heaviness, and anthemnic refrains. Compared to its predecessor, "Megatropolis" appears a bit darker and more direct; the band rather concentrated on straight, edgy riffs and some kind of Rock'n'Roll-attitude. Highlights are plenty and it doesn't take long until this album ignites. Iron Savior have long become a household name in the German Power Metal-circus and with this album, they again confirmed their place in the premier league. Heavy Metal made in Germany is still a seal of approval.
