by Matthias Mader (null) The new Saxon CD is a real "grower" and reveals it's total decisiveness only after the 4th or 5th time listening to it! Since I wasn't too pleased with the very American "Crusader" (I guess a lot of fans will disagree now) I am just as more pleased with with "Metal heads" since the parallels of the two albums are rather small. Biff sings a little more melodic and overlall the accelerator isn't pushed as hard as on "Unleash the beast" (except on "All guns blazing"). Most of the songs move about the mid-tempo section and offer the typical Saxon-sing-along-riffs. At this point I would like to bring out the spanish-oriental influenced "Conquistador" which has the potential for a real Saxon hymn and has to be seen in one row with "Wheels of steel", "Denim & leather" or "Crusader".
