by Markus Eck (29.01.2009) You’ve seen the signs before, and the Norwegians Vreid do it again: their fourth studio album is about war - more exactly: WW II. The album title may sound a bit strange, but makes sense: "Milorg" is, or rather, was, an abbreviation of "Military Organisation" which was a Norwegian resistance group of that time. So, Vreid are dealing once again with the past of their home country. Musically, the talented instrumentalists and masters of emotion emphasise the wistful and melancholic facets of their Black Metal version (which is still pretty hefty otherwise). Old and new fans will appreciate the eight new songs and their enjoyable versatility on "Milorg" - this is another proof of Vreid’s ever improving brilliant creativity.
