by Andreas Reissnauer (23.01.2006) Be sure to check out the new Finnish export hit, “Mimic 47“. Diablo continue where they left off with the 2004-“Eternium“. The mixture of pumping grooves and melodic lead guitars is really thrilling and culminates in songs, like “Damien“, “Together as last“ or the title track making clear that in this condition, they dion't have to fear no competition. Especially because also the production is very heavy and bulldozer-like. It may still be unbelievable that the guys charted the Finnish charts on pole position with the but ballad-like title track but this nice outfit definitely deserved it! Because “Mimic 47“ has not a single weak point but completely convinces from the first through the last second. In the end, Diablo cover Duran Duran's “A view to a kill“ - a matter of taste. There are very few melodic trash metal releases these days but even without this bonus, Diablo present a true masterpiece with this one.
