by Jürgen Tschamler (October 2005) You just can rely on Mr Dirkschneider and his troop. After the "24/7" ep released in advance could already raise the interest in the new album, I am again overwhelmed by this enthusiastically performing band. Among the 13 tracks we find the two tracks of the mentioned EP, "Mean streets" and "24/7", as well as eleven further tracks putting all priorities of the band up front again. Straight but intense riffs, an edgy rhythm-section and songs that can all be called hymns. Highlighted has to be "Eye of the eagle", a great ballad with a fat chorus and probably an upcoming live-smasher! But also the fast, heavy killer-tracks, like the edgy "Shell shock fever", "Mad for crazy" or the powerful banger "Stone hard" can immediately convince. Udo sings relatively variable without neglecting his trademarks and still sounds very fresh. Finally, the perfect ballad, "Cry soldier cry" shouldn't remain unmentioned - very well done. A fine album from the house of U.D.O. featuring all qualities the Metal fan is looking for and proving that U.D.O. have long outlived the old Accept. (JΓΌrgen Tschamler - October 2005)
