1.Mistaken for dead feature
by Markus Eck (10.07.2008) This one's a rare thing - and not only for the death metal genre: 1993, the Yanks welded together their legendary debut "Enbalmed existence" - just to split 3 years later due to permanent quarrels. But lo and behold - 15 years later, the Floridians are back on the scene with their new impressing mace "Mistaken for dead" ! Back in their tracks since 2005, the wild bunch around guitarist and founding father of the band, John Astl, does the full nine yards: they're with him not only in the studio, but live, too. On this new disc, they attack us mercilessly with nine brutal smashers - and the Tampa guys show two notable and nice traits: maturity concerning performance and composition and extreme lust for fresh and crispy song ideas and structures. Both axemen, Astl and Jerry Mortarello, indulge themselves in hard and hefty duels and melodious killer soli - powerfully presented in proven old school style.
