Consequently, the Evergrey musicians left the producer's chair for the first time in their career and gave it to an outside team: Sanken Sandquist and Stefan Glaumann who earned their merits with Rammstein, Bon Jovi or Def Leppard. This enhanced focus on heavy sounds goes hand in hand with a stylistic change: the songs on “Monday morning apocalypse“ are straighter and rougher than ever. That perfectly fits the expressive vocals of singer Tom S. Englund and harmonises with his lyrics dealing with the risks of daily like.
