by Matthias Mader (null) The band bame may sound a bit strange but already the opener, "Du bist frei" could give an all-clear. The Germany neither go for Medieval sounds nor for Frankfurt-style Metal Core. However, it's not very easy to pigeonhole the style of the album. Comparisons are not close at hand - alone due to the German lyrics, which of course speaks for Vogelfrei. Songs, like "Eigen" or "Nie wieder" are free of any clichés and make it dificult to find comparisons. A high portion of Emo-Core has been included, furthermore you get some Bad Religion-riffs (circa "Against the grain") and a lot of honest Rock and Roll-feeling. The lead vocals are clear and undistorted which could make this album partially interesting for the mainstream market, too.
