Product description

Available as a limited edition on coloured double vinyl (clear / 180 g) in a Gatefold.

Out of necessity vocalist and guitarist Mikael Akerfeldt also played the bass while recording 'My arms, your hearse.' The shorter, yet no less playfully arranged songs are still characterised by the melancholy sound which is typical for Opeth.

by Frank Stöver (null) I really wonder why tons of Swedish melodic black/death metal bands without any independency and an own style, are more successful than Opeth! If this business would only be bit more fair, this band would definitely be among the topsellers! But either they suffer a lack in support from the label or they are too highbrow for the scene. Anyway, their 3rd LP "Everything dies" takes up the debut "Orchid". That means that Opeth still have strong prog rock-influences flowing into their songmaterial, but also write more compact steamy songs, without giving up their own private trademarks. The guys know how to entwine melodic, even acoustic parts with aggressive parts. That way the song are never boring or monotonous. Whoever thought "Morningrise" to be hard to digest because of it's overlong compositions, will find an astonishing piece of music.
