10.The curse of the damned
by Matthias Mineur (11.07.2006) The German guitarist, Axel Rudi Pell has been known for his remarkable constancy and musical calculability over the last years. In nice regularity, he enchants his fans with a new studio album celebrating melodic hard rock songs that reach to the borders of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and still sound unique. One of the reasons for it is beside Pell's unmistakable song writing his choice of singers: After Jeff Scott Soto, the American Johnny Gioeli has taken over the main micro in the last years and with his great voice catapults the songs onto an international level. "Mysticaβ is the name of Pell's latest throw, an album that completely follows the tradition of the two predecessors, "Kings & Queensβ and "Shadow zoneβ and consequently doesn't surprise with any unpleasant shocks. Topping on the ice is the final epic, "The curse of the damnedβ, some kind of continuation of "The clown is deadβ.
