by Oliver Kube (24.07.2009) Well, I bet some dyed-in-the-wool fans of this ex-Emo band weren't all too happy when their last output, the major debut "Louder now" hit the streets: it was definitely too airy and merry... Well, here's another blow: abum #4 by the boys from Amityville/NY is not for them either. Melodic, swinging, yet solid Rock tracks à la "Summer, man", or sunny "Where my mouth is" are anything but gloomy. The combo, supported by new guitar man Matt Fazzi (Facing NY) who joined them after Fred Mascherino had left, encouraged by the success of the 2006 release, has obviously decided to follow that more commercial path. As long as that results in such brilliant songs like the irresistible title track, pumping "Cut me up, Jenny" (which reminds me of The Cure - especially vocal-wise), or the atmospheric half-ballad "Everything must go", no open-minded Alternative fan will complain!
