by Olaf Plotke (08/01) The fun can begin, this is New Found Glory. The quintet presents a well-mooded mix of Punk, Hardcore and Rock. Already the opener, "Better off dead", it becomes clear that this is no collection of spiritual lyrics and music but nothing but some feelings. The music of New Found Glory can be understood from the belly, it's the soundtrack for the next party or just to have a short-while with. Songs with passion and energy, with weird sounds and catchy melodies. And with "Hit or miss" we also have at least one club-hit on this debut that could even make it into the single charts. Earwigs like this are presented in a row on this almost 37-minute c.d., like e.g. "Eyescore" or "Ballad for the lost romantics". The 5 guys want to conquer our hearts and take a seat in the charts next to their friends of Blink 182. If you have heard this album, you'll have no doubt that this should become true.
