9.Still rising
by Markus Eck (25.09.2007) This is how a band sounds who put all their eggs in one (black) basket. After the stylistic experiments in the later past, these guys knew exactly that they can only either lose or win now. And the latter is the case. The indestructible Berlin-based killer troop return to what they've always done best: energetic, dynamic and exhilarating, dark melodic Black Metal. Old fans of these scene-veterans still don't have to miss the majestic moments on the new hammer album, "Odium's spring", either, because the wild barrater-quintet sets a lot of highlights in this respect. The lively, raw freshness of the compositions is of enormously powerful nature. It pulls you close on a mental level and into their own, dark abyss. Still, the five black bears did not only invest in the accessibility of their songs but also in the opulent arrangements. The latter are the topping on the ice with fiercely, solemn sounds of the extra kind.
