1.On the road
by Christian Bezdekovsky (April 2004) No matter what you think about the Dropkick Murphys in general: this DVD is really a killer! It features the recording of the 2002 concert in the Boston Avalon Ballroom on St. Patrick's Day, followed by "65 Days of Hell", a 40-minute documentation on the band's part on the last Warped Tour. Sound- and picture quality are good also if you shouldn't ask for too high standards, here considering the small budget of the band. Impressive also is the 90-minute "Behind the scences"-part which together with the extras, "Black&Gold" and "Labor Day Documentary" comes across like a single, long party on which - devotedly to the Irish roots - they drink and party along. Yet, considering that on "On the Road" you even get previously unreleased video clips, too, the only result can be: both thumbs up. For fans a must, anyway, this DVD clocking in at almost 4 hours also is the perfect introduction for anybody, too, leaving no desires opened. (Christian Bezdekovsky - April 2004)
