Formed in 2001, this Indianapolis four-piece has shared stages with the likes of EXODUS, MALEVOLENT CREATION, KING DIAMOND, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and OBITUARY, even before its first major release. In 2005 a self-produced EP caught the attention of Metal Blade Records, who have largely proved their talent for discovering hopeful newcomers in the past. DEMIRICOUS’ debut "One" continues this tradition, grabbing the increasingly trend-conscious metal scene firmly by the balls.
"No fuckin hair dos, ex-girlfriends, or lame shit… just good fuckin times and raging metal," the band states. "Style-wise and riff-wise we call our brand of music ‘Street Metal’. It has to do with tough rippin’ ass riffs and pummeling drums and having nothing to do with whatever is cool."
Once you hear this album you will probably be caught off guard seeing most younger bands coming out nowadays are not paying homage to old school thrash, and you will definitely walk away thinking you haven’t heard a record like this a long time. (Source: Metal Blade Records)

by Stefan Müller (20.01.2006) We are in the year 20 after the foundations of heavy metal were shaken by “Reign in blood“. That this Slayer classic hasn't lost anything of its fascinating effect among masses of ambitious aggro-formations is no new wisdom. Yet, if a band places their own music so close to that of their ideals as sometimes is the case in Demiricious, the connoisseur listens up and compares. ”Hellbound“, e.g. reminds me of “War ensemble“. In the following tracks, you get several reminiscences to the typical US death metal of the 90s by the use of speedy grind passages. Demiricious may never reach the energy level of the California based guys in their early years - but neither do they themselves today. Since this combo from Indianapolis skilfully varies their original motives with death metal voice and escapades into different paces, I can only recommend this album to you.
