by Jürgen Tschamler (04.08.2008) On their fourth album, the Cologne based Adrenaline Power Rock band, Gun Barrel appears as compact as never before. Stylistically, the band has found their niche than can only be described as Dirty Heavy Metal Rock `nΒ΄ Roll. There are influences of cult troops, like Fist, Thunderhead, Quartz, Girlschool and even Tank. Arranged catchy, more melodic but still provided with the Outlaw status, the quartet has recorded some true power hymns with a long time effect β so intense that it hurts if you donβt have them on permanent rotation. Songs, like the bombastic "M.I.L.F." with its killer chorus! Or the punishing power groover, "Turn to black", the Power Metal-like hitter, "The redeemer" and the wild live party killer, "Cheap, wild & nasty". With "Brother to Brother", they have another exceptional hymn in store than couldnβt have been come better from Manowar, only that Gun Barrel at the same time bring in a certain street credibility, too. A cool album.
