by Oliver Kube (29.09.2006) If you could fancy a roaring mixture of classic NWOBHM-guitars, a bit of Space Rock in the likes of the early Monster Magnet, and cool Stoner rhythms à la Kyuss, you should check out the Swedes Harms Way (featuring ex-members of e.g. Terra Firma and Merciless). Their best song comes as soon as with track 2, following the furious "As time goes by" driven forward by cutting twin guitars: "High becomes low". Here, the quartet features everything put into a nutshell what - in smaller portions - is offered in the rest of the 50 minutes of this cool album: powerful riffs, mercilessly grooving but never too hasty beat, a lot of breaks and changes in moods. All this is added by sparsely, but very effectively used vocals. Further highlights on this refreshingly matured album are the punky "Million ways", an atmospheric "9 out of 10" and the speed killer "Prime time".
