by Jürgen Tschamler (18.12.2006) "Redeemer" is the second album of the Swedes who set out to combine Heavy Metal with melodies of the times and in the style of the Commodore 64. SID Metal is what the band itself calls this mixture because the legendary SID chip is the religion of their doing. This much in advance because if you are not - and have never been - interested in the C-64 you'll classify the Swedes' music as very powerful, very melodic Power Metal. The sparse C-64 melodies, predominantly used in the intros and in calmer moments are no major spot in the music, anyway. Which is a pity because this basic idea ain't too bad. The music is well done, not innovative, but still much better than much of the rest coming from Northern Europe. You can hear that the guys have a lot of songwriting experience. The balance between powerful, driving forward riffage and great melodies is great. The eleven songs are more or less on the same qualitative level. Having said that, highlighted have to be "Hate", the atmospheric "Ghost" or the pushing "Through the looking glass".
