The cello artists from Finland dare a huge step forward: this album contains ì no covers at all. Instead you realize the variety in possibilities in the ì band-concept: "Faraway" is a fragile piano-ballad. With ì "Resurrection" and "Somewhere around nothing" however, they present powerful ì heavy-hammers. No wonder since Dave Lombardo (Slayer) sits on drums like ì on three other tracks, too. But even where the percussion is not that ì obvious like in "Toreador II" (with a Latin touch to it) they unfold bombastic ì power that will leave many a mouth gapping. Sometimes you will find passages ì that might remind you of known metal tracks but they always culminate in a ì flood of sprinkling tunes that you wouldn't even know from Progrock bands. No ì doubts, these are true professionals and it's now at the latest that one ì astonishingly realises what this trio is actually capable of doing. Once you have listened to "Reflections" you will no longer miss the covers. (Sonja Angerer - ì 01/03)
