    What Is Rock!?

by Marcel Anders (19.07.2007) The eights album in their 19th year –and still the same hell-like planer of Hardrock, Punk, Rock and Garagen-noise that their fans lovingly call Death-Punk. A combination of AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Poison Idea, Ramones and Stooges, either dirty and heavy or Pop, not always unique or revolutionary but always with charms, humour and style. Simply because singer Hank von Helvete & Co. show no mercy. The lyrics are raw, scurrile and weird, called "I wanna come", "No, I'm alpha male", "You must bleed / All night long" and "Hot and filthy", and the music bursts for citations. The opener, e.g., features the intro of "Holiday in Cambodia" (Dead Kennedys), "Do you do you dig destruction" reminds me of "Search and destroy" (Stooges), "I wanna come" copies from "Danny says" (Ramones), and "Welcome to the garbage dump" uses verses of "Kill city" (Iggy Pop).
