by Patrick Schmidt (null) Unbelievable! The new album of the Norwegians Old Man's Child could push Dimmu Borgir and Cradle Of Filth off the throne! Mastermind Galder hat has collected his fellows around himself (including ex-Dimmu Borgir-drummer Kenneth Akesson), to record another highlight. This is just perfect! and reminds me a bit of the classic "Born Of The Flickering" of '95. Embedded into anultr-heavy Abyss-Studio-production, Galder celebrates his definition of brutal Black Metal. The arrangements are perfect, the synthesizer-parts are overwhelming, the drumming is extremely technical and the aggressiveness is omnipresent. This is how modern Black Metal has to sound, no matter what song you pick, Old Man's Child have class and style. I wonder what the competitors will answer now! And if this band can live up the expectations live on stage, too. A must for all Black Metallers!
