The long separation did the Metal Gods extremely good. That´s what this Live-recording from Mai 2005 shows, from the legendary Budokan in Tokyo. 110 minutes Priest, with lots of new and even more old material of a band who obviously is having fun!

by Marcel Anders (20.01.2006) The title says it all: 26 years after “Unleashed in the east“, the pioneers of NWOBHM return to the place that saw the mother of all live recordings, the Budokan Stadion. And back then just like today, Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, K.K. Downing, Ian Hill and Scott Travis are at their best delivering an impressive show. Not only because of the impressive stage convincing with artful lights, hydraulic tricks and a nice backdrop (eye, devil, rune) but also because of the very tight performance. At the front, you get the guitars around K.K. and Glenn with great poses. Either behind or above them: a bold headed Rob, vampire-like, celebrating a metal fair on meters high pedestals. A total of 110 minutes of classics, such as “Metal gods“, “Breaking the law“, “Turbo lover“, “Painkiller“ or “Hell bent for leather“, paired with new songs, like “Angel of retribution“. Of course in DTS 5.1. It doesn't even matter that there are no bonus features, “Rising in the east“ is a full serving.
