Excellent Service

The Finnish Power Metal kids follow "Learning to Rock" with another hard-hitting, high-quality album drenched in 80's vibe. Anthemic, melodic and fantastically beautiful.

by Markus Wosgien (29.01.2009) Everybody has been waiting eagerly for the next album of Finnish newcomers Sturm Und Drang because their platinum debut "Learning to rock", released 2007, was first-class Heavy Metal, and made some of the scene’s greats green with envy. The idols of these teenagers (all between 16 and 17 years old): Judas Priest, Hammerfall, and Stratovarius. Whetting your appetite for this new one: the terrific cover artwork and the ironic title. And you get something yummy to swallow for starters: speedy "Last of the heroes", followed by a Power Metal anthem feast. André’s high-pitched voice gives you the chills and adds extra zest to tracks like "Break away", "Photograph" or cheery "Life" - you can’t but sing along. Ok, and they also have the obligatory ballad ("A million nights of winter"). Ten songs, ten gems. The future of Heavy Metal looks pretty bright, if you ask me...
