12.On our way
by Ralf Koch (23.01.2008) Alternative Rock-fans haven't been overly indulged in 2007. There was the convincing debut by Hinder, yet the first appearance of golden throat, Chris Daughtry, was, despite good songs quite Pop – and the big names showed no sign of life at all. It wasn't before the end of the year that Seether and the Creed-successors, Alter Bridge, raised the flag and fists into the air and at least provided us with a conciliable end of the year. 2008 could become much better: with Stereoside, the year begins with a new act from overseas who can live up to the big names in all categories. Singer Jeff Shields sounds like a muscular version of Ed Kowalczyk (Live), the songs rock in the heavier way of their colleagues mentioned above and despite all edginess, the basic hookline is the dominating element in every song. "On and on" blows your ears free, while "It's not my day" is more epic – so, the necessary variation is provided, too. Great! Yes, awesome!
