His Ayreon-project is seen the high art of good taste, almost every album of the workaholic Dutch are composition- and sound-wise on highest level. Only the calmer Ambeon-sideproject was less satisfying for Lucassen himself, so in direct answer to that he now delivers a pure Metal album. Star One is beside Lucassen: Symphony X-singer Russell Allen, ex-Threshold-frontman Damian Wilson and After Forever-chanteuse Floor Jansen. This trio plus the instrumentalists Ed Warby, Erik Norlander (Lana Lane) and Jens Johansson (Stratovarius) deliver the ultimate Metal-masterpiece: heavy riffs, catchy riffs, great vocals and a sound close to perfection. The initial release of the album is being released as a digi-pack including a bonus-c.d. clocking in at 40 minutes, featuring amongst others a Hawkwind-medley with the original singer Dave Brock. Just great!
