Star Trek has brought forth several rather iconic theme tunes, from Alexander Courage’s theme for the Original Series and Jerry Goldsmith’s compositions for Star Trek - The Motion Picture, all the way to Michael Giacchino’s score for J.J. Abrams’ reboot films. Composer Jeff Russo (Fargo) pays tribute to his predecessors with the theme music for Star Trek: Discovery, creating a modern theme for the adventures of the Discovery.

About the contents of this Netflix series

Star Trek: Discovery takes place ten years before the adventures of the Enterprise under Captain Kirk. The main character is Lieutenant Commander Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) who was brought up on Vulcan by Spock’s father Sarek.
