Excellent Service

Since the major deal for „Sweet and innocent....“ didn't bring the expected success in 1998, Mad Sin were fired with a compensation payment. Four years later, „Survival of the Sickest“ appeared with a new second guitar player and background vocalist Hellvis.

by Jürgen Tschamler (null) After their label change Mad Sin now start to really kick ass. "Survival of the sickest" is the tightest album the quartet has ever brought to life injecting the listener a full dose of Punkabilly Rock'n Roll. Without a doubt, Mad Sin are among the most important bands of the genre on this side of the Atlantic Ocean. Hence the rocking and grooving of the four makes you wish your hair back into Elvis times. Every now and then you'll hear a punching Punk riff ("Psycho babylon") and some of the songs accelerate pretty damn well - "Revenge", "Sin is law" or "Caroline". The boys do not disappoint at all - they stay Elvis true, never neglect their influences (a.o. Stray Cats) and still sound fresh and crisp. Those who have the last Brian Setzer album "'68 Comeback special ignition" among their favourites should now get "Survival of the sickest". Definitely one of the hotest Hot Rod albums ever to be available in Europe!
