by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (10.04.2008) "This is a song from the controversial `Host´ album", singer, Nick Holmes introduces the song "So much is lost" after having presented "only" songs from the current three records to the London audience before. Not the last element of cynicism. The part of the Best-Of box of tricks is about to follow up to the genre-masterpiece, "Gothic". And as a big surprise: the non-album song, "Sweetness" sounding even better without keyboard samples. The guitar lines of the Yorkshire-rippers are still valid blueprints. The fast "Pity the sadness" and "Once solemn" (known from "The worst of Ray Cokes"?) make the arena tremble. Their "Over the madness" documentation couldn’t live up to the advance laurels but "The anatomy of melancholy" convinces by its perfect sound, playfulness and a very balanced set list. Exception: the static light show – Paradise Lost is not the Blue Man Group. "Forever failure"? Hardly. This is the ‘True belief’. Gothic Metal like a fairy tale.
