by Markus Eck (29.09.2006) Although it was almost impossible for the soulful Gothic Doom Metallers to further increase their gloominess and suicidal pain tendencies, they again managed to dig their new, suffering songs a bit deeper into desolate dreary chimneys. Besides the aid of orchestral noblesse and excessive use of symphonic bombast, the seven Swedes incorporate graceful female voices to create a massive, musical undertow that sucks you into the velvet dark. That is already introduced by the dramatic opene, "She dies" - one of these endlessly depressive and painful compositions added by some spiritual longing. Besides that, the Scandinavians decided to re-record three songs of their '99 demo, "The closed eyes of paradise" - as well as two excellent cover versions.
