A Gregorian choir sings current rock/metal-classics. Unusual, eh? Indeed. Yet, interpreted in such a great and epic way, some fo the songs gain so much in depth and tragic that it's a spectacle to listen to these new interpretations. Many of you will know Gregorian, anyway, for there used to be the "Master of chant" Vol. I-IV series. Yet, those were rather devoted to pop songs and consequently - despite its interesting approach - only of limited interest. Recorded were the records, of course, "The dark side", too, in the Londoner Angel Studio, a rebuilt church. Consequently, the production presents itself very majestic and in beautiful sound colours. And the tracklist is overwhelming: alone "Hurt" (N.I.N.), "My immortal" (Evanescence), "Engel" (Rammstein), "Nothing else matters" (Metallica) or "Join me" (HIM) make this a more than convincing compilation !!! (Benny Ramm - September 2004)
