by Andreas Reissnauer (July 2004) No doubt, "A sun that never sets" was a great album, but in comparison to the millenium-piece, "Times of grace" a little disappointment. With such a benchmark there is no way of winning. On the other hand, Neurosis are a band that steadily progress with their sound. Also in 2004, Neurosis live their depressions with fullest attention and devotion. "The eye of every storm" crawls underneath your skin, makes you think and is a devoted company if you're spiraling down in life. Melancholics and emotional people love this band for their unbelievable sense to set gloomy moments in your life to tone. No other band plays with the game of dynamics between loud and calmness as emotional and threatening as Neurosis does. Also in 2004, the calmer parts are dominating in the sound of the Californians but at the same time the aggressive parts hurt even more. Another masterpiece of the quintet - Neurosis just cannot deliver a weak album! (Andreas Reissnauer - July 2004)
