by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (22.10.2008) A horrible and greyish cover artwork Γ la Deeds Of Flesh announces that the iron US Death Metal approach of the MCD "Unblessing the purity" hasnβt been a one-time experiment. But ist four songs will be left alone - the first full album without Dan SwanΓΆ feature eleven new bloodbaths. The penchant for the American style (partially responsible for this: new axe wielder Sodomizer) is still there ("Mock the cross"), but the gentlemen do not step on the gas that frantically any more. Right now, Swedish chunky rhythms, harsh chords, flowing leads and incredible soli, are dominating. Concerning atmosphere, the album is leaning more towards the debut than towards "Nightmares made flesh". But the five have improved their composing - the retro appeal has disappeared a bit. The "new" Bloodbath, with their unmelodic, pumping, evil deeds and Mikael Akerfeldt's choked vocals, often remind me of indestructible Vader. Killer!
