by Andreas Reissnauer (04/01) With "Visions from the spiral generator" Vintersorg released their coolest album so far. The technical perfection and the great song writing let the natural, ì "folky" athmosphere of the first albums step back a bit. "The focusing blur" is maybe the album the band should have released in between the two for it turns out to be the perfect link. Multi-choir refrains, flutes and acoustic guitars pair up with weird bass lines by Steve DiGiorgio, Asgeir Mickelson's complex drums and progressive arrangements. The topping on the ice however, is the variable vocals of Mister Vintersorg whose charismatic voice refines the album. Again a piece of genius with a lot to discover on it!
