by Markus Wosgien (15.01.2007) After the sometimes very poppy "The silent force" album, the early fans can be relieved, because on their new album, "The heart of everything", Within Temptation go one step backwards towards "Mother earth" and one step further into new regions. The album is heavier and enormously bombastic. A classic orchestra refines the anthemnic side of the Dutch and lets the whole album sound like a soundtrack of a fantasy-epic. The majestic "The howling" bears resemblance of "Ice queen", while "Frozen" rocks happily spotting a new light on Within Temptation. On the first single, "What have you done", singer Sharon den Adel is supported by Life Of Agony shouter Keith Caputo. A groovy track, unmistakably but still new. Gloomy and sacral is "Our solemn hour an", as well as "The truth beneath the rose", influenced by the Dan Brown bestseller "Sacrilege". A colourful album full of hits. Within Temptation did everything right and convince over the whole course of the album.
