by Andreas Reissnauer (03/10) After the not quite so successful, a little too bulky predecessor "Abigail II" the only true king returns with a new album. "The puppet master" immediately appears much straighter. Tracks like "Magic", "Emerencia" or "Blood to walk" are extremely catchy, yet by the aid of the ingenious guitar lines of the duo Andy LaRoque and Mike Wead never seem simple. The concept story is explained in detail on the DVD accompanying the album - I haven't seen it, but it seems to me that the story is extremely brutal and fierce. Beside very gloomy tracks such as "No more me" or the morbid ballad "So sad" there's also bizarre stuff like "Christmas". But be assured that this track also perfectly fits the story of the concept. Result: A top notch, very variable and shortwhile album that lives up to "House of god"!
