Product description

Less guitar, more piano, plus the most ambitious, bombastic arrangements in the career of the band. The fifth album of the Brit trio is an exciting and brave highlight of the season.

by Oliver Kube (30.10.2009) The fifth album by British Alternative / Art Rockers is very electronic, very synthetic, and very epic. What is also remarkable is the almost striking presence of the piano played by front man Matthew Bellamy - his piercing guitar which has predominated everything so far is distinctly less audible, being the leading instrument on maybe three songs (altogether, there are 11 of them). But any fan will recognize the band at on ce, even if the musicians do present their most ambitious, most complex opus so far. And we're not only talking about "Exogenesis symphony" (divided in three parts), but also about the elegic keyboard sounds, peppy electronic beats, and arena Rock parts which can be found in the title track... Or "Unnatural selection" which starts with a dramatic church organ followed by a section reminding you of ABBA's "Lay all your love on me", and last but noch least "United states of eurasia", a kind of "Bohemain rhapsody" (Queen) for the 21st century.
