by Sonja Angerer (14.09.2007) As wanderers through time who met at the Premiere of Mozart's The Magic Flute, that is how the Berlin "Chamber Corers present themselves. Hence; on stage they show up in classic outfits, too. With the help of rather Rock-unusual instruments, like clarinet, cello and contrabass, the six musicians create their unique sound somewhere between Heavy Metal and Progressive Rock. The lyrics are in parts in German and sometimes quite macabre - just listen to the fierce a-cappella song, "Absinth", or the little ballad "Operation". In the driving forward songs, such as "Rather be dead" and "Murders in the Rue Morgue" (Iron Maiden-cover) the music counts first, however. Which appears a bit more unusual than in a classic Rock formation with two guitarists and a bass man but that shouldβnt distract you from the fact that the compositions are a collection of catchy, thrilling and very well arranged songs. The guys should be driving on, no: they have to be!
