by Matthias Mader (11.04.2007) The Vendetta is a young band, founded in Piacenza, an industrial suburb of Milano, in 2004 under the name of The Bloodline. Italy has a long tradition for Hardcore/Punk-bands reaching back into the early 80s. Unfortunately, only very few national acts, such as Raw Power and Negazione, have achieved the international breakthrough. Purely musically, The Vendetta is on one level with these cult bands, yet, stylistically, they are different. The eleven songs are endlessly punishing, the performance is on highest level, the Metal influence is omnipresent, especially the mid-80s-sound with heroes, like Motörhead, Rose Tattoo and Metallica. Also the vocals often remind me of James Hetfield in times of "Kill'em all". Result: on "Ultraumatic", The Vendetta presents itself as a Metal/Punk'n'Roll-steam waltz of the international premier league.
