by Markus Eck (29.09.2007) In 1997, the popular British band around Biff released this solidly produced album featuring some fine compositions that surprisingly enough is hard to get in its original pressing. Consequently, this beautiful re-release is a welcomed gift to the Saxon fan. It features perfect, traditional N.W.O.B.H.M., the songs are powerful, edgy and fully melodic – typically Saxon at their best. Vocally, Biff presents himself better than on most of the other, later compositions of the English band, his often siren-like voice places numerous accents in the timeless songs. The clever combination of heroic hymns, immortal melodies as well as edgy Heavy Metal killers and finest, ballad-like material is brought into perfect balance on "Unleash the beast". All songs have been re-mixed and excellently polished, the end result has a perfect sound.
