10.Rev. 22:20 (Dry Martini Mix)
by Christian Albers (01.10.2007) When I read this band name for the first time I wondered what Maynard James Keenan wanted to tell us. Is Lucifer a woman? Well, we don't know and we can only guess. But among these people, everything is a bit more curious, anyway. By the time of this review, the only material available was the three songs online (www.puscifer.com). The new project of the Tool-frontman contains, as he himself says, his complete, creative sub-consciousness that he can't use in Tool, A Perfect Circle and Caduceus. And creative are these songs indeed. "Rev 22:20" begins with such great, low electro sounds that it almost hashed my speakers. "The undertaker", with its distorted sounds could almost be filed under Industrial Rock. The third song is a remix version of "Rev 22:20", which differs from the original version by the fact that it runs slower and uses even lower basses and the vocals are a bit clearer. Result: for every fan of Tool and A.P.C. an enrichment for his record collection.
