Product description

In retrospect, "Wages Of Sin" is certainly a break in modern metal. Angela Gossow is the young lady that takes the Arch Enemy microphone in 2011 and shows the world that successful death metal growls are no more a men business. By the way: the double album contains additional archive material of the Swedes!

by Andreas Reissnauer (04/02) Finally! The new Arch Enemy album was released almost a year ago in Japan, and now finds its way into the European shops. "Wages of sin" is the debut for the German singer Angela Gossow who does a good job and can convince with her fat Death Metal voice. Musically, the Swedes haven't changed, and once you have dug into the album, the fierce, melancholic-aggressive songs, like "Burning angel", "Web of lies" or "Behind the smile" can easily live up to the songs of the first three records. The brothers Amott are throwing killer riffs again! To equal the late date of release, by the way, Century Media releases this album as a double-c.d. with eight bonus tracks and two video clips for the price of a single c.d.. That's value for money and an additional reason to order this album, bursting for musicality.
