by Oliver Kube (22.10.2008) Duff McKagan is the bass player for such mega-acts like Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver - between those releases and tours he could enjoy the good life and relax a bit. But the 44-year-old is a kind of creative live wire and just hates sitting around, the reason for his stints on albums or during live shows done by his friends (e.g. Alice in Chains, The Presidents Of The United States Of America, Mark Lanegan). And that’s why he regularly reanimates his ex-bands in his hometown of Seattle, too. Right now, it’s Loaded - he first worked with them in 1999. The five songs on this CD (the first Loaded-tracks since 2001) feature the star on the guitar and as vocalist. On the menu: dirty Hardrock plus an acoustical title track. Time and again, all that reminds you a bit of McKagan’s past as a punk with legendary Fastbacks and 10 Minute Warning - especially during "Executioner’s song" and "IOU". Unfortunately, this entertaining CD is only 20 minutes long…
