Product description

Exactly one year after the successful Album Blood & Glitter (#1 on the Official German Album Charts), LORD OF THE LOST releases the band's first cover Album in history: Weapons Of Mass Seduction will be released on December 29, 2023. The tracklist itself symbolizes their creative spirit and presents an exclusive selection of world-famous, crossgenerational hits that LORD OF THE LOST transforms into something unique in just under 50 minutes.

Weapons Of Mass Seduction crowns the band's most successful year to date. After JUDAS reached second place on the German Album Charts in 2021, the Hamburgers achieved their first number one with Blood & Glitter. This was followed by their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, another ten concerts as support for the legendary Iron Maiden, and numerous sold-out headline performances. The international media interest continued beyond the ESC as well. Shows on the main stages of the biggest European festivals, such as Wacken Open Air or Hellfest, are further highlights of an intense year. Weapons Of Mass Seduction concludes 2023 as a homage to some of the most successful tracks in music history.

The cover version of Billy Idol's 'Shock To The System' sets the stage for a selection of songs from different decades and genres, imbued with LORD OF THE LOST's own style and character. Although the artists couldn't be more different, Weapons Of Mass Seduction is a cohesive work of art that doesn't shy away from contrasts. For example, Judas Priest's heavy metal epic 'Turbo Lover' meets modern pop songs like Sia's 'Unstoppable', Bishop Briggs' 'River', and Zella Day's 'High'. 'Hymn,' originally by Ultravox, Michael Jackson's legendary 'Give In To Me', and the Britpop hit 'Somewhere Only We Know' by Keane show further facets and present themselves in the typical LORD OF THE LOST sound. Even Bronski Beat's 80s electropop hit 'Smalltown Boy' receives a makeover in LORD OF THE LOST's style, incorporating Rock elements and lead singer Chris Harms' distinctive voice. On the 80s classic '(I Just) Died In Your Arms' by Cutting Crew, alongside Harms, singer-songwriter Anica Russo can be heard, who participated in the German ESC pre-selection 'Unser Lied fΓΌr Liverpool' together with the five musicians. Weapons Of Mass Seduction ends with the emotional cover version of 'House On A Hill' by The Pretty Reckless, but its resonance lasts a long time.

A 2CD special edition (available in a limited deluxe box as well as digiheighty) provides an additional selection of covers that LORD OF THE LOST has either already released or performed live during their career. This includes the previously known Roxette cover 'The Look' feat. BlΓΌmchen from Blood & Glitter, 'Children Of The Damned,' with which LORD OF THE LOST pays tribute to Iron Maiden and the past intense two years they have experienced together with the heavy metal giants, and the cover of the Finnish ESC song 'Cha Cha Cha' by KÀÀrijΓ€ – sung completely in Finnish by Chris Harms.

LORD OF THE LOST remains true to themselves and once again operates far beyond any genre boundaries. Weapons Of Mass Seduction showcases artistic sensitivity and the ability to transform songs by various artists respectfully and convincingly into something entirely their own.
